SxSW 2018

Maybe it’s because I’m not going this year and it’s me just trying to hide my envy at all the people who are there right now, but the 2018 SxSW does not seem to be showcasing too much new or exciting.

Yes AI is still a feature, blockchain will be dominating the schedule, crypto… check. Some cool but gimmicky experiential event stuff, yes of course. Is the SxSW show just a big corporate machine showing the biggest brands in tech and interactive – Yes.

But the thing is actually, who the hell am I kidding. I’d love to be there this year. It may well be a be a big corporate machine now (and was when I went), but I’m there’s such a wealth of talks you can’t help but find something that is  insightful and inspiring to your line of work and soul (If you’ve been please let me know what the goodies are this year!).

At SxSW you get to meet some really interesting people – both locals and delegates. Plus I’d kill for some Austin hospitality and BBQ right now after this this long cold winter we’ve had here in the UK!
