Big day out – Cycling Lincoln to Cambridge

A family weekend away to visit friends gave me the perfect excuse to ride on some new roads.

This ride took me along the flatlands of the Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire Fens. Inexplicably, my last-minute route planning managed to avoid all main roads bar a couple of crossings, so this route mostly follows nicely paved cycle paths, farm tracks, and quiet B roads.

Additionally, this ride gave me an excuse to use my new Alpkit Glider Ultralight frame bag. This was very handy to allow me to carry extra cables, jackets, and food without having stuffed jersey pockets. As a first test, I’m very happy with the purchase.

The full Strava route can be seen and GPX grabbed here: https://www.strava.com/routes/21631864

Gravel baby!
The only sketchy part of the ride. This cycle path near Bardney turned into a gravel and glass trail… thankfully no punctures (GP5000’s working a treat)!
